Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0313804A1] A switch is described for a hair-dressing appliance consisting of a winding mandrel (2), driven in rotation by a motor (1), and a hair dryer (3) whose outflow nozzle (4) is directed onto the winding mandrel (2), perpendicularly (5) to the axis of the winding mandrel (2) and tangentially to the circumference thereof. A switch (10) is provided for switching on and off the hair dryer and the drive motor (1) for the winding mandrel, the switch (10) being displaceable from an upper into a lower position, towards the handle, on the housing part (11) which is designed as a handle for a person operating the appliance. The switch (10) can moreover be tilted out of the plane of displacement and possesses two switching cams (12, 13), one switching cam (12) actuating a first contact (14) when displaced into the lower position located nearer to the handle (11), the motor (1) for the winding mandrel (2) being switched on by this switching cam (12), and this taking place independently of the tilting position of the switch (10). The second switching cam (13) is so designed that, when tilted, it actuates a second contact (15) by which the hair dryer (3) is switched off. <IMAGE>
