Abstract (en)
A swab composed of an absorbent material for the absorption of liquids, of fibre material such as cotton, viscose or the like, and of synthetic fusible fibres is produced by forming a film web (3) in multiple overwidth relative to the width of a swab and introducing fusible fibres into the edge portions of this web. This film web is then folded together in zig-zag fashion to form a multilayered web (7) which is less wide, corresponding in width to the at least one swab, and has fusible fibres on only one or more outer layers of the folded structure. This way a multilayered swab is produced on equipment comprising only one worker-and-stripper or flat card (2) plus, downstream thereof, a folder (4) and also, further downstream, an in particular heated embossing tool (10, 11). <IMAGE>
Abstract (de)
Ein Wattetupfer aus einem saugfähigen Material zur Aufnahme von Flüssigkeiten, aus Fasermaterial, wie Baumwolle, Viskose oder dergleichen, und aus synthetischen Schmelzfasern wird dadurch hergestellt, daß eine Florbahn (3) in mehrfacher Überbreite bezüglich der Breite eines Wattetupfers gebildet wird und in die Randabschnitte dieser Florbahn Schmelzfasern eingebracht werden. Diese Florbahn wird dann zick-zack-förmig zu einer mehrschichtigen Bahn (7) geringerer Breite entsprechend des wenigstens einen Wattetupfers zusammengefaltet, wobei nur eine oder mehrere äußere Schichten der Faltung mit den Schmelzfasern versehen sind. Dadurch wird ein mehrschichtiger Wattetupfer auf einer Anlage erstellt, die zu seiner Herstellung nur eine Krempel oder Karde (2) und in Arbeitsrichtung dahinter ein Faltblech (4) aufweist, wobei ferner ein insbesondere erhitztes Prägewerkzeug (10, 11) nachgeordnet ist.
