[origin: EP0313934A2] The pill divider has two arms (1, 2) which can be pivoted about an axis, a bearing surface for the placement of the pill and an apparatus (7) for the positioning thereof being arranged on the first arm (1), while arranged on the second arm (2) is a blade (4) which, when the pill divider is closed, is situated closely above the bearing surface and, together with the arms (1, 2) and the apparatus (7) for positioning in the vicinity of the axis forms two mutually separated chambers. A device (8) is provided for removing only one piece of the divided pill, this device being designed as an aperture in the second arm (2) above one of the chambers.
