In order to guarantee uninterrupted driving operation over a period of time of any desired length and furthermore to guarantee the driving operation over a subsequent predetermined period of time on failure or termination of the mains connection in a toy road with toy vehicles having an electric drive motor, arranged in the chassis, and a track route formed, in particular, by plug-in link pieces, the drive motor being supplied with electric current from the mains supply via current pickups and current conductors installed in the track route, provision is made for the link pieces 2 to be connected detachably or non-detachably to current conductors 7 over the entire track route 1, the toy vehicle 6 having current pickups, which are in contact with the current conductors 7, and a rechargeable current source 11 which serves as an electric buffer. In this case, the current source 11 and the current pickups 18, 19 are in simultaneous, permanent connection with the drive motor. If the current supply apparatus 10 is separated from the mains current supply, the internal current source 11 automatically comes into operation and allows further driving operation until it has been discharged. The current conductors 7 on the link pieces 2 are formed either by metal foils or metal foil portions, by electrically conducting mouldings 7' which can be plugged in a clamping manner onto the individual link pieces 2 and can be plugged detachably either onto the edge parts 5 or in the region of the track surfaces 8 of the link pieces 2 or are fixedly and non-detachably connected to the link pieces. <IMAGE>

Um bei einer Spielzeugbahn mit Fahrspielzeugen mit einem im Fahrgestell angeordneten elektrischen Antriebsmotor und einer insbesondere aus steckbar verbundenen Gliedstücken gebildeten Fahrbahnstrecke, wobei der Antriebsmotor über Stromabnehmer und in der Fahrbahnstrecke verlegte Stromleiter aus dem Netz mit elektrischem Strom versorgt wird, über einen beliebig langen Zeitabschnitt einen ununterbrochenen Fahrbetrieb zu gewährleisten und bei Ausfall oder Beendigung des Netzanschlusses über einen anschließenden vorbestimmten Zeitabschnitt den Fahrbetrieb weiterhin zu gewährleisten, ist vorgesehen, daß die Gliedstücke 2 über die gesamte Fahrbahnstrecke (1) mit Stromleitern (7) lösbar oder unlösbar verbunden sind, wobei das Fahrspielzeug (6) mit den Stromleitern (7) kontaktierende Stromabnehmer und eine als elektrischer Puffer dienende, aufladbare Stromquelle (11) aufweist. Hierbei stehen die Stromquelle (11) und die Stromabnehmer (18, 19) gleichzeitig permanent mit dem Antriebsmotor in Verbindung. Wird das Stromversorgungsgerät (10) von dem Stromnetz getrennt, kommt die interne Stromquelle (11) selbsttätig zum Einsatz und erlaubt einen weiteren Fahrbetrieb bis zu ihrer Entleerung. Die Stromleiter (7) an den Gliedstücken (2) sind entweder durch Metallfolien oder Metallfolienabschnitte, durch elektrisch leitende, an den einzelnen Gliedstücken (2) klemmend ansteckbare Formteile (7') gebildet, die entweder auf die Randteile (5) oder im Bereich der Fahrbahnflächen (8) der Gliedstücke (2) lösbar aufsteckbar oder mit den Gliedstücken unlösbar fest verbunden sind.
