[origin: EP0314124A2] For regenerating fixing fluids, the spent fixing fluid is circulated successively through a filter (2), an electrolytic cell (3) and a tank (4) which has a predetermined capacity and is provided with devices (6, 7) for adding defined quantities of the substances forming the fixing fluid. A sample is taken from the quantity of fixing fluid measured by means of the tank (4) and transmitted to a place remote from the place of the fixing bath, where the sample is analysed. The result of the analysis is fed to an electronic data processing arrangement (5), which causes the devices (6, 7) to add precisely those quantities of spent substances, by means of which the state of a fresh fixing bath is restored, to the quantity of fixing fluid contained in the tank (4). <IMAGE>
