[origin: EP0314885A1] This hydraulic elevator has a synchronous telescopic lifter (4) which is arranged laterally next to a car (11) guided in a shaft (1) and is held on the shaft bottom (2). The head piece (6.1) of the first piston (6) of the telescopic lifter (4) is connected to the top part (12.1) of a car frame (12) of the car (11). A piston guide (14) arranged on the head piece (7.1) of the second piston (7) is guided in a sliding manner in a guide rail (13) fastened to the car (11) in the direction of movement of the car (11). Due to the different distances covered in the same unit of time by the car (11) with the guide rail (13) and the piston guide (14), a relative displacement corresponding to the extension travel of the first piston (6) is obtained between the piston guide (14) and the guide rail (13), during which relative displacement the piston guide (14) slides on the guide rail. The relative speed of the piston guide (14) is here always less than the velocity of motion of the piston guide (14).
