[origin: US4860661A] A sabot projectile with a propulsion mechanism for utilization in a liner for a barreled firing apparatus. In the projectile, the propellent cage for a projectile with a propulsion mechanism includes hinge-like segments articulated forwardly in the firing direction, which encompass the projectile about the circumference thereof and are rotatable therewith, inasmuch as the segments are held together through the intermediary of a retainer ring.

Zur Simulation von großkalibrigen Hochleistungsgeschossen in unterkalibriger Bauart wird für verhältnismäßig kleine Schießplätze ein Treibspiegel für ein an sich bekanntes Geschoß nach der DE-PS 32 01 629 vorgeschlagen. Der Treibspiegel (13) gewährleistet beim Austritt aus einem Einstecklaufgerät (40) und Eintritt in ein im Kampfpanzer-Waffenrohr liegendes Schutzrohr, daß keine Teile seitlich abfliegen können. Damit werden Beschädigungen des Kampfpanzerwaffenrohres und Störungen des Geschosses beim Durchfliegen des Schutzrohres vermieden.
