Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0315548A1] The present invention relates to a profiled metal piling (13) with complementary lateral coupling flanges, called respectively "male" (15) and "female" (14), for the production of a cut-off wall by the juxtaposition of a plurality of pilings of the abovementioned type, with the engagement of each of the two coupling flanges of each piling into the complementary coupling flange of each adjacent piling. This piling is characterised in that its male coupling flange (15) and its female coupling flange (14) are formed on the same side of its web (17) during the profiling operation, the respective orifices (37) and (36) of the two coupling flanges confronting one another, and in that the web of the piling has a longitudinal bending line (23) which extends parallel to the coupling flanges, the web thus defining a dihedron, the angle alpha of which is obtuse and open towards the coupling flanges. This piling makes it possible to produce cut-off walls with a high resistance modulus. It is profiled from a metal sheet, of which the width, thickness and position of the bend (23) are selected in such a way that the resistance modulus of the finished piling exactly meets the requirements of the building contractor. <IMAGE>
