Verfahren zur Vorbehandlung von textilen Materialien in wäßrigen Medien durch alkalisches Abkochen und/oder Bleichen, bei dem man als Hilfsmittel eine Verbindung der allgemeinen Formel I <IMAGE> einsetzt, in der R ein C6- bis C10-Alkylrest, X = H, Na, K oder NR¹R²R³R<4> ist, und R¹, R², R³ und R<4> H, C1- bis C4-Alkyl oder -CH2-CH2-OH bedeuten, sowie Verwendung der Verbindungen I zur Vorbehandlung textiler Materialien.
