[origin: EP0315878A2] The internal gear pump has a driving pinion (3) and an internal gear (1). On the pressure side the teeth engage with a contact ratio equal to or greater than 2 in such a way that a number of mutually sealed-off tooth cells are produced. Several of these tooth cells at least are each connected by means of a non-return valve to the common pressure duct. In order to reduce noise and to avoid impact pressures, the pinion and/or the internal gear are provided with recesses or slots which are arranged on the drive flanks and each connect the tooth heads to the tooth feet. <IMAGE>
