[origin: EP0316537A1] With dosing pumps there is the problem, particularly when dosing corrosive media, that air or gas will collect in the pump chamber thereby reducing the performance of the pump until manual venting is undertaken. This is particularly detrimental in the case of media giving off gas and when changing dosing agent vessels. It is intended to create a dosing pump with automatic intake on the one hand and automatic venting on the other. For this purpose it is proposed that a piston chamber (4) be provided between the actual pump chamber (3) and a return line (12), with a limiting element (14, 15) which is so pretensioned that, when the pump chamber (4) and the piston chamber (3) are connected for venting, the volume of the piston chamber (4) connected to the pump chamber (3) is enlarged. <IMAGE>
