Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0316568A2] In an apparatus for removing stacks of sheets, in particular paper sheets fed in overlapping fashion, comprising - a lowerable delivery platform (2), - a vertically movable separating element (27) which is arranged on the rear side of the stack (16) and can be pushed between the rear edges of the sheets, in the region of the top of the stack, in particular between the uppermost sheet of the stack (16) and the overlapping stream (14), - two vertically offset and vertically movable clamping jaws (19, 20) which are arranged on the rear side of the stack and can be pushed independently of one another in the space created by the separating element (27), and - a vertically displaceable auxiliary stacking platform (21) which is arranged on the rear side of the stack and can be moved immediately below the bottom clamping jaw (20) into the region of the delivery platform (2), the two clamping jaws (19, 20) and the auxiliary stacking platform (21) are mounted together in a carriage (18) which can be displaced vertically by a vertical drive (23), it being possible to synchronise the downward movement of the carriage (18) with the downward movement of the delivery platform (2). <??>In this apparatus, the vertical movements of the individual stack- changing elements required for a loss-free stack change can be carried out with the required accuracy and with little outlay in terms of construction. <IMAGE>
