Quaternary amidoammonium salts of the formula (I) <IMAGE> in which R<1> represents a free electron pair, an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms or a group of the formula (II) <IMAGE> in which R<4> represents hydrogen, methyl or ethyl and p represents an integer from 1 to 10, R<2> represents hydrogen, an alkyl group having 1 to 22 carbon atoms, an alkenyl group having 8 to 22 carbon atoms or a group of the above formula (II), R<3> represents a group of the above formula (II) or a group of the formula (III) <IMAGE> in which R<5> represents an alkylene radical, alkenylene radical or alkadienylene radical having 7 to 21 carbon atoms, m represents 2 or 3, n represents an integer from 0 to 4, q represents an integer from 1 to n + 1, which corresponds to the number of the quaternary nitrogen atoms, r represents an integer >/= 1, which corresponds to the charge of the acid anion X and X represents the anion of a non-oxidising and non-corrosive inorganic acid or an organic monocarboxylic acid or polycarboxylic acid, the radical R<1> on at least one nitrogen atom representing an organic radical from the above group and the radical R<3> representing a radical of the above formula (III), are used for the brightening of textiles.

Beschrieben werden quartäre Amidoammoniumsalze der allgemeinen Formel (I) <IMAGE> in der R¹ für ein freies Elektronenpaar, eine Alkylgruppe mit 1 bis 4 C-Atomen oder eine Gruppe der allgemeinen Formel (II) (CH2- ??-O)pH (II) in der R<4> für Wasserstoff, Methyl oder Ethyl und p für eine ganze Zahl von 1 bis 10 stehen, R² für Wasserstoff, eine Alkylgruppe mit 1 bis 22 C-Atomen, eine Alkenylgruppe mit 8 bis 22 C-Atomen oder eine Gruppe der obigen allgemeinen Formel (II), R³ für eine Gruppe der obigen allgemeinen Formel (II) oder eine Gruppe der allgemeinen Formel (III) H-(R<5>)- ?- (III) in der R<5> einen Alkylenrest, Alkenylenrest oder Alkadienylenrest mit 7 bis 21 C-Atomen bedeutet, m für 2 oder 3, n für eine ganze Zahl von 0 bis 4, q für eine ganze Zahl von 1 bis n + 1, die der Zahl der quartären N-Atome entspricht, r für eine ganze Zahl >= 1, die der Ladung des Säureanions X entspricht und X für das Anion einer nicht oxidierend und nicht korrodierend wirkenden anorganischen Säure oder einer organischen Monocarbonsäure oder Polycarbonsäure stehen, wobei an mindestens einem Stickstoffatom der Rest R¹ für einen organischen Rest aus der obigen Gruppe und der Rest R³ für einen Rest der obigen allgemeinen Formel (III) stehen, Verfahren zur Herstellung derartiger Verbindungen und ihre Verwendung zur Avivage von Textilien.
