[origin: EP0316784A2] The invention relates to a process for improving the washing and drycleaning resistance of finely coated textiles, wherein water-insoluble condensation products of melamine, formaldehyde and lower alcohol which have been modified with higher fatty alcohols or fatty acids are added to the aqueous film-forming polymer dispersions with reactive groups used for coating the textile materials and, after the coated textile material has been dried, fixed at elevated temperatures, and the use of condensation products of melamine together with aqueous polymer dispersions in the fine coating of textiles.
