Abstract (en)
The dowel has the form of a portion (10) of a body of revolution (15). Seen from above, this portion (10) is elongated and possesses two or more pointed tongues (19) on both sides. Seen from the side, the portion (10) has the form of a circular arc. The flanks (21) of the portion (10) are so cambered that the latter is self-locking if it is inserted into a hole (11), corresponding to its form, in the timber (10). This hole can be produced by a router. The portion (10) possesses one or more peripheral grooves (17). Corresponding to these grooves (17), one or more webs (12) are present in the hole (11) produced by the router, said webs contributing substantially to creating an intimate connection between the dowel and the timber when the dowel is glued in. <IMAGE>
Abstract (de)
Das Flickstück besitzt die Form eines Abschnitts (10) eines Rotationskörpers (15). Von oben her gesehen ist dieser Abschnitt (10) länglich und weist auf beiden Seiten zwei oder mehrere spitze Zungen (19) auf. Von der Seite gesehen ist der Abschnitt (10) kreisbogenförmig. Die Flanken (21) des Abschnitts (10) sind so bombiert, dass dieser selbstklemmend ist, wenn er in eine seiner Form entsprechende Aussparung (11) im Holz (10) eingesetzt wird. Diese Aussparung kann durch einen Fräser hergestellt werden. Der Abschnitt (10) weist eine oder mehrere periphere Rillen (17) auf. Entsprechend diesen Rillen (17) sind in der mit dem Fräser hergestellten Aussparung (11) ein oder mehrere Stege (12) vorhanden, die wesentlich dazu beitragen, beim Einleimen des Flickstücks eine innige Verbindung zwischen dem Flickstück und dem Holz zu schaffen.
