[origin: EP0317681A1] The invention relates to a method for the continuous preparation of plant stalks producing bast fibres, such as flax and hemp, involving particularly a ginning stage and a stripping stage, and to a preparation installation making it possible to carry out said method. According to the invention, a previously prepared sheet of stalks (25) driven in a continuous advancing movement (26) is stripped, said stalks being neither guided nor maintained, being placed at least in two layers and being arranged longitudinally in the direction of movement.
