[origin: EP0317929A1] The envelope-stuffing apparatus has a fixed stuffing station taking empty envelopes and a fixed letter intake station, the stations being at a distance from each other, and also has a letter transfer carriage which is moved between a retracted position beneath the letter intake station and a position of engagement in the envelope present at the stuffing station. <??>It is characterised in that it comprises letter-holding push fingers (35) which are stationary on the carriage (33) and almost touch the top of the letter intake station (32), and holding-down fingers (37) mounted above the intake station and moved between a downward position against the intake station and a retracted position. <IMAGE>
