To guide the forces from the washing drum into the crossmembers, a plurality of parts is required. The lye container according to the invention is intended in a simple and cost-effective way to allow efficient transmission of forces from the washing drum into the housing. In order to transmit forces effectively by means of a small number of parts, crossmembers (11, 13) are connected at least in regions to a basic body (3), and they have first connection means (23) for the crossed bearing (19) and second connection means (37) for at least one annular compensating weight (39). Because of its simple construction and simple mounting, the lye container is suitable for installation in washing machines or the like which can be assembled at least partially automatically. <IMAGE>
