Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0318401A1] The ice axe has a handle (1) which has a longitudinal slot (8) in its end which separates two lateral cheeks (9,10). Each tool (2,3) has an outer operational part (21,31). The inner part (22,32) of one tool (2) has a female (23) part into which a male part (33) on the other tool (3) fits. Each cheek has holes through it, and the inner parts of the tools have holes (24,34) through them which correspond to these. The tools are held on the handle by removable locking rods (17,18) which are put through the holes and can be nuts and bolts.
