Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0318435A1] To remove the thread waste (11) on a yarn carrier (7), the latter is clamped in a loading station (A) of the device between a take-up cone (6) and a pressing cone (8) arranged on a carriage (3) which slides to and fro on a carriage guide (1). During this movement, the yarn carrier (7) first passes through a cutting station (B) in which the thread waste (11) on the yarn carrier (7) is cut by blades (13) arranged on a blade head (12). During the subsequent movement of the yarn carrier (7), the pressing cone (8) is detached from the latter and the take-up cone (6) is set in rotation by a drive pulley (10) connected to a drive. The rotating yarn carrier (7) passes through a stripping station (C) into which compressed air is blown obliquely to the yarn carrier (7) through compressed air nozzles (15) arranged on a blower (14). The cut thread waste (11) is stripped and sucked through a suction channel (16). In a subsequent ejection station (D), the yarn carrier (7) is thrust away from the take-up cone (6) by an ejection cylinder (17) and the carriage (3) returns to the loading station (A) to begin a new work cycle.
