Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0318749A1] For the production of a spacer frame (2), containing a drying agent, for insulating glass panes, an initially drying agent-free hollow profile (3) is bent a number of times, but left open in the region of a last corner. At the open place, the frame leg or legs (4, 5) leading to this open place is or are filled with drying agent and then the frame (2) is finally closed. The drying agent to be filled into the frame legs (4, 5) is in this connection dosed in such a manner that the frame legs are only partially filled, one frame leg (4) being lengthened at the still open place and the other frame leg (5) being correspondingly shortened. After filling, the extension (4a), which remains drying agent-free, of the lengthened frame leg (4) is bent and its end face is connected tightly to that of the shortened frame leg (5). The device (1) has to this end a filling device (6) and immediately adjacent to this a bending device (8) and clamping devices (9 and 10) in order to be able to fill the frame in an essentially suspended manner. <IMAGE>
