[origin: JPH01201571A] PURPOSE: To provide a method for purifying exhaust air from a tenter frame or a singer, capable of perfectly burning toxic organic substances in the exhaust air to purify the exhaust air and reducing the amount of a fuel required for a heat-supplying device by supplying the exhaust air of the tenter frame, etc., together with a largely excessive air as air for combustion into the heat- supplying device such as a boiler. CONSTITUTION: This method for purifying exhaust air from a tenter frame or a singer comprises supplying the exhaust air of the tenter frame or the singer to a burner 13 in an energy-supplying device 21 through a heat-insulating line 10 using a fan 7 as a part of air for combustion. The burner 13 is operated with a variable and high excess of air of λ=1.5 to 3.5. The heat of the exhaust gas is recovered with three heat exchangers 29, 30, 31 disposed on the exhaust gas line of the heat-supplying device 21, and the exhaust gas is exhausted out from a flue 36. Thereby, the sensible heat and latent heat of the exhaust gas can be recovered, and supply water can preliminarily be heated with the recovered heat.
