A method for the manufacture of press knives for sheet material resembling cardboard, in particular for foodstuffs packaging or the like, consisting of a strip-shaped supporting part with a mechanically produced cutting surface and a coating applied thereto in order to prevent accumulation of cutting dust and adhesion of foodstuffs. In this case, the aim is to improve the service life and furthermore also to use recycling material. This is achieved by applying molybdenum bisulphide at room temperature to the cutting region and subsequently burning it in within the range from 120 DEG to 150 DEG C for 20 to 40, preferably 30, minutes.

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Herstellung von Linien-Schneidmessern für kartonartiges Flächenmaterial, insbesondere für Lebensmittelverpackungen oder dgl., bestehend aus einem bandförmigen Trägerteil mit einer mechanisch erstellten Schneidfläche und einer daran aufgebrachten Beschichtung zur Vermeidung von Schnittstaubanfall und Haftung von Lebensmitteln. Hierbei wird angestrebt, eine Verbesserung der Standzeit zu erreichen und darüberhinaus auch Recyclingmaterial zu verwenden. Erreicht wird dies dadurch, daß auf den Schneidenbereich bei Raumtemperatur Molybdän-Bisulfid aufgetragen und hernach im Bereich von 120° bis 150° C 20 bis 40 Minuten, vorzugsweise 30 Minuten, eingebrannt wird.
