An oboe having a body which consists of an upper joint, a lower joint and a bell, tapers conically and is provided with finger holes, has an increased wall thickness of the upper joint. As a result, blowing the proposed oboe is less strenuous; at the same time, the loudness spectrum of the particular note played is widened and its sound is softer. <IMAGE>

Eine Oboe mit einem aus Oberstück (2), Unterstück (A) und Becher (6) bestehenden, konisch verlaufenden, mit Tonlöchern versehenen Korpus (1) besitzt eine vergrößerte Wandstärke des Oberstücks (2). Dadurch ist das Blasen der vorgeschlagenen Oboe weniger anstrengend; gleichzeitig wird das Lautstärkespektrum des jeweils gespielten Tones erweitert und sein Klang weicher.
