Supports (23) coated with epithelial cells, for example endothelial cells, are exposed to a nutrient solution (7) in an apparatus, the flow of this nutrient solution being increased in the course of a number of days. As in natural blood circulations, pulsations are produced with a reversal of flow. By means of this quasi-physiological loading, the cells on the support (23) become "used" to the loads to which they are subjected after implantation into the arterial vessel system of a human being. Their adhesion to artificial supports (23) is decisively improved by the conditioning treatment. <IMAGE>

Mit epithelialen, z.B. Endothel-, Zellen beschichtete Träger (23) werden in einer Anlage einem im Verlauf von Tagen gesteigerten Fluss einer Nährlösung (7) unterworfen, wobei wie in natürlichen Blutkreisläufen, Pulsationen mit einer Strömungsumkehr erzeugt werden. Für die Zellen auf dem Träger (23) erfolgt durch diese quasiphysiologische Belastung eine "Gewöhnung" an die Belastungen, denen sie nach einer Implantation in das arterielle Gefäss-System eines Menschen ausgesetzt sind. Ihre Haftung auf künstlichen Trägern (23) wird durch die Konditionierungsbehandlung entscheidend verbessert.
