[origin: EP0320561A2] The handle-type housing (1) of the depilating apparatus surrounds a motor device for driving a spiral spring (2) which is seated on a guide wire (3) and has a curved hair gripping part between its ends (21, 22) supported in the housing. The depilating apparatus is distinguished by the curved hair gripping part of the spiral spring (2) being a helical winding (2') which forms a closed resting surface at least approximately perpendicular to the ends (21,22) of the spring (21) supported in the housing (1). By this means, the hair gripping part is effective over a very large region and in all directions. <IMAGE>
