[origin: EP0320758A2] The invention relates to a process for slagging from molten metals, located in metallurgical vessels, in particular from molten iron located in crude iron casting ladles and steel casting ladles, wherein the slag floating on the surface of the molten metal is taken off in the usual manner from the slightly tilted vessel. The invention is characterised in that, to assist the slagging step, a flushing gas is introduced from above into the molten metal for producing a flushing spot at any desired point on the surface of the molten metal. The invention also comprises equipment for carrying out the said process. <IMAGE>
