[origin: EP0320963A2] This relates to a volumetric fluid pump working like a pump with rotary pistons for liquid or gaseous media, which in a housing with inlet or outlet aperture for the pumped medium has a motor-driven rotary piston (6) supported in the housing bore and pivotable about the longitudinal axis of the latter. It is proposed that the annular intermediate chamber be subdivided into a plurality of succeeding, for example curved-shaped, chambers (31, 32), that each of these chambers be provided at one end with an intake aperture (38) and at the other end with a discharge or outlet aperture (39), thereby forming an elementary pumping unit, and that the various pumping units resulting from the subdivision of the chamber be actuated in succession by the same masses (6) provided in a suitable number which are driven by the same rotary piston.
