Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0321687A2] The invention relates to a safety ski binding having a binding member (3) which is movable in a guide rail (2) in the longitudinal direction of the ski and can be locked in different positions by means of a variable catch (4) and is subjected to the influence of at least one contact pressure spring (5) acting in the longitudinal direction of the ski, this spring being provided with a device for compensating any play existing between the binding member (3) and the guide rail (2) in the vertical direction. According to the invention, the contact pressure spring (5) is retained in a spring cage (6) having two lateral walls (6e), a downwardly resilient element (6c) being provided in or on the bottom (6b) of the said cage and pressing the binding member (3), in the unstressed state, through the lateral walls (6e) of the spring cage (6) and upwards against the guide rail (2). <IMAGE>
