Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0321693A2] On a powder coating apparatus in which powder is issued from a feed line (11) towards a workpiece, such as a tin can blank (51) and excess powder is sucked back by means of extraction lines (29, 25), a conditioning chamber (21) is arranged around the coating zone (15) in order to ensure that the issued powder is not contaminated by being influenced by the surroundings (U). An air stream (S), produced from openings (23) of the chamber (21) is provided in order to direct the tin can blanks (51) into and through the chamber (21). As a result, costly powder reprocessing systems for sucked-back and reapplied powder are superfluous and, nevertheless, the powder can be used to an optimum degree in a closed circuit. <IMAGE>
