Abstract (en)
Modern infrared radiation detectors have a coverage angle of up to 180 DEG . Such a wide coverage angle is not always required, since interfering sources which are located outside the area under surveillance are occasionally detected in its peripheral area. The new radiation detector is intended to enable simple restriction of the coverage angle and can be adapted, if necessary, to changing conditions. <??>According to the invention, a detector casing (1) is provided with a frame (5), in which a guide channel (7) is formed which is suitable for the accommodation of a closable covering element (6). The covering element (6) can be pushed in front of an optical system (3) so that the coverage angle ( alpha 1) of the latter is reduced to a coverage angle ( alpha 2). <??>The invention is preferably employed in passive infrared detectors which are used for area surveillance. <IMAGE>

Moderne Infrarotstrahlungsdetektoren haben einen Erfassungswinkel, der bis zu 180 ° reicht. Nicht immer ist ein so breiter Erfassungswinkel erwünscht, weil bisweilen in seinem Randbereich Störungsquellen detektiert werden, die außerhalb des zu überwachenden Raumes liegen. Der neue Strahlungsdetektor soll eine einfache Begrenzung des Erfassungswinkels ermöglichen, ggf. auch an geänderte Verhältnisse anpaßbar sein. Erfindungsgemäß wird ein Detektorgehäuse (1) mit einem Rahmen (5) versehen, in dem ein Führungskanal (7) ausgebildet ist, der sich zur Aufnahme eines verschließbaren Abdeckelementes (6) eignet. Das Abdeckelement (6) kann so vor eine Optik (3) geschoben werden, daß sich deren Erfassungswinkel (α1) zu einem Erfassungswinkel (α2) vermindert. Die Erfindung kommt bevorzugt bei passiven Infrarotdetektoren zur Anwendung, die zur Raumüberwachung eingesetzt werden.
