Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0323832A2] In the knee- or elbow joint for toy figures, the thigh or upper arm is connected to the lower leg or lower arm respectively via a ball which is held in trough-type joint sockets of the limbs. The underlying object is to design such a knee- or elbow joint in such a way that it guarantees complete mobility of the limbs, has the visual appearance of a human knee- or elbow joint, is simple to manufacture and assemble and increases the durability of the toy figure. This object is achieved in that the ball is divided in the longitudinal centre plane extending perpendicular to the kneecap or to the elbow, the two hemispherical sockets being mounted mutually rotatably on a horizontal axis extending parallel to the plane of the kneecap in such a way that one hemispherical socket is held on the thigh or upper arm and the other hemispherical socket is held on the lower leg or lower arm respectively. <IMAGE>
