To make a front furniture panel, shaped at both sides, with a decorative foil or venear (3) on each side, a chipboard core (1) is used. This is of medium density material, having a density of between 550 and 570 kg per cu.m. It is then subjected to pressure and heat in a gross, between shaped plates (2), with the decorative layers in position. During the shaping operation, the material is compressed to a density of 750 kg per cu.m. at a temper between 70 and 200 deg.C. The finish also includes lacquer coating.

Eine zunächst ebene, im wesentlichen aus zerkleinertem Holz und Bindemitteln bestehende Platte im Form einer mitteldichten Faserplatte (MDF-Platte) (1) mit einer Dichte von etwa 550 bis 570 kg/m³ wird unter Druck und Wärmezufuhr, beispielsweise mittels einer Prägewerkzeuges (2), in ihrer Oberfläche reliefartig verformt und gleichzeitig nachverdichtet, und zwar auf etwa 750 kg/m³. Damit wird eine mechanisch hoch belastbare und insbesondere im Kantenbereich leicht bearbeitbare und versiegelbare Möbelfrontplatte geschaffen. Eine derartige Möbelfrontplatte in Form einer MDF-Platte mit einer Dichte von etwa 750 kg/m³ weist saubere und dichte Kanten auf, die beispielsweise durch Lackieren endgültig versiegelt werden können.
