[origin: EP0324466A1] Pictures or other objects hung on a wall could be illuminated hitherto by means of compact lamps in an unsatisfactory manner in terms of design. In order to achieve an improvement both in respect of the construction and the design, the picture rail is constructed as a profile rail (6) which serves at the same time as an electric conductor and is connected to a current supply. The hanging elements (7) are likewise constructed as electric conductors and are in connection via contact heads with the respective electric phase of the profile rail (6). A lamp (11) can then be attached to the hanging elements (7), the support parts of which lamp form the electric conductors at the same time. This enables a filigree-type design if thin or possibly springy wires are used. <IMAGE>
