[origin: EP0324899A2] A raising plate (14) is supported by two guide arrangements (16) in the form of pivot frames (18, 20) connected to one another in a hinged manner. In the raised position of the plate (14), the pivot frames (18, 20) are so upright that the slide bearings (28, 34) of the pivot frames (18, 20) tend to jam in the rails (30) guiding them. If the raising arrangement is activated so as to effect a lowering movement of the plate (14), the plate (14) would retain its height position on account of the tendency of the slide bearings (28, 34) to jam. This tendency to jam is overcome by virtue of a spring arrangement (36) engaging in the area of the upper pivot bearing (34) of at least one guide arrangement (16). <IMAGE>
