Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0325134A1] Such press bands have, at least on their outer side facing the fibre web or the felt or felts, cavities and/or depressions for the removal of liquid which are produced by pouring a free-flowing mixture of a pre-polymer onto a continuous reinforcing woven belt and bonding it to the belt. Since the outer side of a press band coated in this way is smooth while the inner side of the band possesses the desired cavities and/or depressions for the removal of liquid, in order that the press band can be used in a wet press it must, after removal from the casting mould, first be inverted, a procedure which, especially in the case of small band diameters, is very difficult and requires a great deal of effort. <??>The invention avoids this disadvantage by arranging that, in order to manufacture the press band, the reinforcing woven band is led round one of at least two rolls which are arranged at distance in parallel one above the other or one beside the other and is coated, by means of at least one nozzle, on the outer side of the band or the inner side of the band or on both sides of the band with the free-flowing pre- polymer mixture. <IMAGE>
