Switches with a metal case and a plastic base are used as reversing switches, transmission switches, temperature switches or the like, especially in the case of motor vehicles. However, the die-cast zinc of which the switch case normally consists becomes flexible at relatively high temperatures so that the smooth cylindrical plastic base, which is secured only by means of a circumferential lip on the end in the die-cast case, can be detached from its mounting on the die-cast case. According to the invention, this is avoided in a particularly simple manner in that the base (2) of the switch (1) has an outwardly projecting retaining flange (7), in that the circumferential lip (6) rests on an oblique surface (10) of the base, directed outwards from the base (2), and in that on the sleeve (5) surrounding the base (2) there are arranged at least two, preferably three or four, indentations or notches (8), distributed around the circumference of the retaining flange (7), which grip under the retaining flange (7) on the flange side facing the circumferential lip (6) in a securing manner. <IMAGE>
Abstract (de)
Insbesondere bei Kraftfahrzeugen werden Schalter mit einem Metallgehäuse und einem Sockel aus Kunststoff als Rückfahrschalter, Getriebeschalter, Temperaturschalter oder dergleichen eingesetzt. Der Zink-Druckguß, aus dem das Schaltergehäuse üblicherweise besteht, gibt jedoch bei höheren Temperaturen nach, so daß der lediglich durch eine endseitige Umfangslippe in dem Druckgußgehäuse gesicherte glatte zylindrische Kunststoffsockel sich aus seiner Befestigung an dem Druckgußgehäuse lösen kann. Dies wird gemäß der Erfindung in besonders einfacher Weise dadurch vermieden, daß der Sockel (2) des Schalters (1) einen nach außen hervorstehenden Halteflansch (7) aufweist, daß die Umfangslippe (6) an einer vom Sockel (2) nach außen gerichteten schrägen Fläche (10) des Sockels anliegt, und daß an der den Sockel (2) umgebenden Hülse (5) mindestens zwei, vorzugsweise drei oder vier Einprägungen oder Einkerbungen (8) über den Umfang des Halteflansches (7) verteilt angeordnet sind, die den Halteflansch (7) an der der Umfangslippe (6) zugewandten Flanschseite sichernd untergreifen.
