Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0325893A1] The points (61) for a cogwheel railway, which has smooth tracks with a centrally arranged rack, has an adjusting device (64) with one curved (62) and one straight (63) rack piece for the respective travelling direction. The adjusting device (64), bearing these rack pieces (62, 63), is adjustable laterally relative to the track direction. Each end portion (66, 67) of the points (61) to be trailed is provided with a tongue-shaped actuating element (33) which is arranged longitudinally displaceably in a longitudinal slot (31) of the fixed rack of the relevant end portion (66, 67) and has an upwardly projecting catch (35). The catch (35) projects over the rack in the outer position of the actuating element (33) and, in its inner position, is lowered to the level of the rack. Each actuating element (33) is coupled via attached levers (41, 42) with a rotatably mounted disc (43) which, in turn, is coupled with the adjusting device (64). A vehicle, trailing the points (61), actuates the catch (35) in the case of the latter projecting. The points (61) are thus correctly switched and, at the same time, the catch (35) of the other actuating element (33) is advanced. Unproblematic trailing of the points (61) is thereby guaranteed automatically and mechanically independently of its position. <IMAGE>
