[origin: JPH01225472A] PURPOSE: To lessen the generation of side flow smoke by wrapping a tobacco core with specific cigarette paper having regions of high air permeability and low air permeability of patterned zone shapes. CONSTITUTION: The patterned zones on the cigarette paper wrapping the tobacco core are subjected to buttoning, by which the initial air permeability (determined as an air quantity cm<3> per min, cm<2> and kilo pascal) of the cigarette paper is adjusted to 10 to 250P, more provide 80 to 130P and the average total air permeability to 85 to 20% of the initial air permeability, preferably 30 to 80P.

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Cigarette, welche dadurch gekennzeichnet ist, daß das Cigarettenpapier durch ein- oder mehrmaliges Batonnieren der jeweiligen musterartig ausgebildeten Zonen von einer Ausgangsluftdurchlässigkeit von 10 bis 250 P (nach DIN ISO 2965) auf eine mittlere Gesamtluftdurchlässigkeit von 85 bis 20% des Ausgangswertes eingestellt worden ist.
