[origin: EP0326039A1] A generally tubular label (1) adapted to be fitted around an article of manufacture such as a bottle, which label comprises a sheet-like label blank (2) having a pair of portions (2a, 2b) opposite to each other and a hot-water or base soluble adhesive layer (4) connecting the opposite portions of the label blank together. The hot-water soluble adhesive layer is soluble in contact with a hot water of a temperature not lower than about 50 DEG C. The base soluble adhesive layer is soluble in contact with an base solution of either ambient temperature or elevated temperature.
