Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0326440A1] Machine for inserting a cathode in a CRT gun eyelet. <??>This machine comprises a support device (1) for the gun which can move along the axis of the gun, a cathode-support device (5) positioning the cathode (6) along the axis (2) of the gun and a feeler (4) with retractable rod cooperating with a first detector (9) giving the position of the cathode when the rod bears on the grid (G1), it being possible to displace the said feeler perpendicular to the axis of the gun. It further comprises a measuring bar (7) of calibrated length, bearing on the grid G2 and opening out to the side away from the eyelet, a second detector (8) recording the position of the measuring bar (7) and a control device (10) determining the displacement of the gun-supporting device from the measurements made by the two detectors. <??>The invention is used in the manufacture of television tubes. <IMAGE>
