Abstract (en)

[origin: JPH01230914A] PURPOSE: To obtain an ashbox for hearth which can effectively remove clogging, by constituting the ashbox of a fixed part containing an inclined wall and the upper edge of a chamber and a tilting part containing a recessed bottom and a scraper blade, and opening a vertical passage against an ash well at the opened position and closing the chamber at the closed position. CONSTITUTION: When clogging occurs, a scraper blade 14 is returned to the farthest position from the generator 19 positioned at connecting position of a bottom 13 with an inclined wall 11b and fingers 15c are locked between a contacting member 20 and a ram-operated plunger 21 by extending the plunger 21. When a chamber 3 is opened by gradually extending a ram 16 thereafter, the side of the lower part of a clinker receiver 2 facing a tilting part 12 slightly tilts from the vertical direction and expanded downward from the tilting part 12. After clogging materials are removed, the tilting part 12 and a fixed part 11 are put together along dihedral sealing surfaces 18 and 18' by retreating the ram 16. Then a hook is engaged with the lower part of a projecting section by extending the ram of a locking means 18c and the water level in the chamber 3 is returned to a normal level.
