Stretcher composed of several lengths assembled in a chosen polygonal shape, characterised in that the said lengths consist of mouldings (10, 12, 14) possessing at least one longitudinal groove (20) along one of their edges, said groove being capable of taking a border of a canvas (28) placed over said stretcher, and a tensioning device (26) of elongate form, running right the way round the perimeter of the stretcher and wedged in said groove (20). <IMAGE>

Le châssis est constitué de plusieurs tronçons assemblés suivant un contour polygonal choisi, lesdits tronçons étant constitués par des profilés (10, 12, 14) présentant au moins une rainure (20) longitudinale le long d'un de leurs bords, ladite rainure étant susceptible de recevoir une bordure d'une toile (28) disposée sur ledit châssis, et un dispositif de tensionnement (26) de forme allongée, s'étendant sur tout le périmètre du châssis, et maintenu en force dans ladite rainure (20).
