Abstract (en)

In order to monitor a (redundant) safety shut-off in the form of a solenoid shut-off valve (16) on internal combustion engines, that is diesel engines, it is proposed in overrun conditions to increase the quantity of fuel delivered to the internal combustion engine until feedback is received on the injections actually occurring and then to trigger the safety shut-off valve (16) by a currentless circuit. The injections detected by the feedback are absent only when the safety shut-off valve is intact. A fault signal may be utilised for giving a suitable alarm. <IMAGE>

Zur Überwachung eines (redundanten) Sicherheitsabstellers in Form eines elektromagnetischen Abschaltventils (16) bei Brennkraftmaschinen, nämlich Dieselmotoren, wird vorgeschlagen, im Schubbetrieb die der Brennkraftmaschine zugeführte Kraftstoffmenge so lange zu erhöhen, bis eine Rückmeldung über tatsächlich auftretende Einspritzungen erfolgt und anschließend das Sicherheitsabschaltventil (16) durch Stromlosschaltung anzusteuern. Die durch Rückmeldung erfaßten Einspritzungen bleiben nur dann aus, wenn das Sicherheitsabschaltventil intakt ist. Eine Fehlermeldung kann für eine geeignete Alarmgabe ausgenutzt werden.
