For monitoring a (redundant) safety shut-off in the form of an ELAB solenoid shut-off valve on internal combustion engines, that is particularly diesel engines, it is proposed to separate the voltage supply for the control unit and the fuel delivery control device for the diesel injection pump on the one hand and the control of the solenoid safety shut-off valve on the other hand from one another by means of a relay with cut-out delay, so that when the vehicle is shut off it can be determined whether shutting off of the motor occurs due to interruption of the fuel supply immediately after shut-off, owing to the correct action of the solenoid safety shut-off valve, or delayed together with the subsequent currentless switching of the electrical or electronic control unit for the diesel control. <IMAGE>

Zur Überwachung eines (redundanten) Sicherheitsabstellers in Form eines elektromagnetischen Abschaltventils ELAB bei Brennkraftmaschinen, nämlich insbesondere Dieselmotoren, wird vorgeschlagen, die Spannungsversorgung für das Steuergerät und das Mengenstellwerk der Dieseleinspritzpumpe einerseits und die Ansteuerung des elektromagnetischen Sicherheitsabschaltventils andererseits durch ein Relais mit Ausschaltverzögerung voneinander zu entkoppeln, so daß beim Abschalten des Fahrzeugs festgestellt werden kann, ob das Abstellen des Motors durch Unterbrechung der Kraftstoffzufuhr sofort nach dem Abschalten aufgrund der korrekten Wirkung des elektromagnetischen Sicherheitsabschaltventils erfolgt oder zeitverzögert zusammen mit der späteren Stromlosschaltung des elektrischen oder elektronischen Steuergeräts für die Dieselregelung.
