[origin: EP0327835A2] Matrix display belt(s) runs over spaced rollers and has line and column elements forming pictures, symbols etc., which are fed into the display position either side of a parting strip by a computer driven setter. The elements forming part of the band extend over most of its width and are joined to it in the transport direction and the parting strips allocated to the individual display lines differ in colour to the band and its elements. In the display region the strips (4) are pref. flexible tapes guided at their edges in the transport direction by opposing elements (3,3') on the band (1). The band pref. has elements facing opposite ways (3,3') in each line alternately and is guided by the strips allocated to the individual lines.
