[origin: EP0327840A2] The present invention relates to a magnetic seal for the gap between a floor and a door, comprising a threshold element (4) which can be mounted on the floor side, a counter-element (2) which can be mounted on the surface of the door leaf on the floor side, and a closing element (6) which moves under magnetic influence and consists of a strip which is hinged on the threshold side or door side in the vicinity of the closing surface of the door leaf and which is held in a horizontal position without magnetic influence when the door is open, whereas it is held in an oblique position by means of magnetic forces upon closing of the door, in which arrangement it rests against the element on the door leaf side or floor side. The magnetic seal according to the invention may be installed subsequently, which involves the threshold becoming extremely flat without sealing level being lost. <IMAGE>
