[origin: EP0328487A1] The operator's stand (13) is in front of the stenter inlet and above the treatment zone (5), the floor of the stand being at a lower level than the stenter inlet. The treatment zone forms an arcuate bypass consisting of alternate fixed rolls (21) and adjustable rolls (22). The stand facilitates access to the stenter inlet, yet the roll arrangement ensures a tight strand of guiding. <IMAGE>
