Abstract (en)

[origin: JPH025040A] PURPOSE: To satisfactorily maintain internal strength, the structure of texture and edge permeation resistance by incorporating at least one kind of amphipatic polyacrylamide and at least one kind of cationic resin as well as a sizing agent imparting hydrophobic property. CONSTITUTION: Base paper contg. at least one kind of cationic resin and at least one kind of amphipatic polyacrylamide as well as a sizing agent imparting hydrophobic property is used so as to produce a laminated product. The sizing agent is a reactive sizing agent such as dimerized alkyl ketene, an epoxidized fatty acid amide or a fatty acid anhydride or a nonreactive sizing agent such as a higher fatty acid or its salt. This base paper has especially improved texture, surface quality and internal strength and does not undergo the deterioration of edge permeation resistance and other important characteristics.
