[origin: EP0328850A2] The push button switch has a tubular switching part (15), which can move axially in a housing (11), with which there latches a push button cap (16, 17, 18) having a tubular projection (16a). A roll diaphragm (19) is used to seal the intermediate space between the round switching part (15) and the likewise round housing (4), the radially inner edge region of which roll diaphragm (19) rests on a shoulder (15d) arranged externally on the switching part (15) and is held fixedly there by means of axial pressure of the free end of the tubular projection (16a) of the push button cap. The radially outer edge region (19b) can be produced from one piece with the sealing ring (19c), fitted externally on the housing, and can be connected thereto by means of individual spokes. In this way, a seal which is significantly improved with respect to known switches of this type can be achieved between the roll diaphragm and the switching part, on the one hand, and the housing, on the other hand, at reasonable costs, that is to say at costs which are not greater than those for the previously known switches. <IMAGE>
